Details:

Team training events for all 3 teams take place in San Antonio (sometimes University UMC). There are 4 Saturday training events in the months before the weekend that are usually 8 am to 3 pm. Members must complete 3 of 4 training events, and a 2-3 hour Texas Department of Criminal Justice Volunteer Training. Weekends run from Wednesday to Saturday (Connally), or Thursday to Sunday (Torres and Briscoe). Cost is approximately $200 plus hotel room (scholarships and sponsorship fundraising support available). Torres weekends are usually January and July, and Connally weekends April and November, and Briscoe weekends are March and October. Experience:

Application with pastors signature and statement of faith. Willingness to love Men in White (inmates) and tell them about God's grace & forgiveness. People with previous jail/prison team can, and are encouraged to participate, but must meet specific TDCJ volunteer entry rules (see team leaders for detail).
