Community Workdays are monthly serving opportunities at locations around San Antonio. The following workdays are available to register for now.
Last Chance Ministries, Victorious Point Transitional Homes Workday | Sat, May 4 | 10 am-1 pm | 607 Frio City Rd, SA, TX 78207
This is a family friendly event. Come join us to help LCM prepare their transitional community for grand opening. We will be doing yard work, fence repair, moving a play set, and planning follow on work scheduled in August. The Outreach Ministry will provide all the needed tools, snacks and drinks. Meet at Victorious Point at 10 am, or if you need a ride, we will be leaving church before 9:30 am (contact Steve, SRyan@UniversitySATX.Org, to reserve a seat). High and Middle School students can come without parents if a permission slip is turned in by Wednesday, May 1. All other kids must be accompanied by their parent or responsible adult. There will be work for all ages and abilities. We recommend you bring a hat and working gloves.

Join us at we volunteer at Strong Foundation, a Christian non-profit that helps homeless families with children who need a fresh start in life. They have a program that provides families with a safe place to live while they are trying to get back on their feet.They are encouraged to further their education, secure employment, take Financial Peace to overcome past hurts and challenges. We will be helping with Kidz time from 9:30am-11:30am. We need 20 volunteers (adults & high school age kids).
- Play with children! We have a basketball court, balls, fort, swings, slides, and bikes.
- You can organize games or maybe bring a simple craft. (Avoid stickers, and markers or paints that are not washable.)
- Snacks and drinks are always appreciated. (Please avoid common allergy products such as nuts, etc.
- KidzTime is rain or shine. The rain plan would be to move inside with activities such as movies, games, and other table activities.
We will also do a work project- mowing lawns and trimming hedges. We will need 15 people (Adults, middle school, and high school kids).

We will be serving lunch to the visitors at both Medical Center RMHs and spending time with them. We will probably cook the food that morning at our church. More information to come after the Outreach Ministry meets with the RMH staff and plan the meal.
